Meet the Founder
Maureen DeLucia, E-RYT 500 • YACEP
Maureen DeLucia is the founder of Mangala Yoga and has been leading Yoga Alliance-certified teacher trainings since 2009. For more than 15 years, she has helped hundreds of students become confident yoga teachers through transformational education rooted in intelligent movement, traditional yoga philosophy, and practical teaching methodology.
As the creator of Mangala Yoga's comprehensive Yoga Alliance-certified curriculum, Maureen has spent years developing educational programs that integrate anatomy, biomechanics, sequencing, philosophy, pranayama, meditation, and the art of teaching into a proven, accessible system. Today, that curriculum serves as the foundation of Mangala's Studio Partnership Program, allowing independent studios to offer exceptional teacher trainings and continuing education without building a program from scratch.
With more than 30 years of personal practice and decades of teaching experience, Maureen has studied a wide range of yoga traditions, including Anusara, Iyengar, Power Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative Yoga, and Tantric Philosophy. Her teaching emphasizes intelligent alignment, creative sequencing, mindful movement, and practical techniques that help students develop confidence both on and off the mat.
Her background in massage therapy, anatomy, kinesiology, and movement science has shaped a practical approach to yoga education that balances tradition with modern understanding. Every program is designed not only to deepen personal practice but also to develop skilled, knowledgeable teachers who can safely and authentically guide others.
Known for her approachable teaching style and engaging educational environment, Maureen encourages students to think critically, teach with confidence, and continue growing long after graduation. Her trainings combine depth, accessibility, and real-world application while honoring the integrity of yoga's rich traditions.
Today, Maureen continues to lead teacher trainings, workshops, and educational partnerships while expanding Mangala's Studio Partnership Program to independent studios across the country. Her mission is to make exceptional yoga education more accessible while helping studios strengthen their communities, create sustainable new revenue, and inspire the next generation of yoga teachers.
